What to expect when you visit

Journey Community Church is about authentic relationships and helping others take their next step towards Loving God and Loving People.

What we believe and value

Mission:  Love God  Love People!

Our process for Journey Community Church is to have our four Core Values expressed in and through us.

  • Christian Spirituality     - Reach Up
  • Community & Service   - Reach Over
  • Discipleship                - Reach In
  • Missional Living           - Reach Out

What We Believe

The Bible is the inspired, inerrant and authoritative Word of God for the Christian faith and living.  (The Bible)

That there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (God the Father)

In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His personal return in power and glory. (God the Son)

In the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling every Christian is able to live a godly life. (God the Holy Spirit)

That all people are lost sinners and must turn to Christ in saving faith and repentance for regeneration by the Holy Spirit. (Salvation)

In the resurrection of both those who believe in Jesus and those who do not believe: those believing to eternal life with Christ and those unbelieving to eternal punishment in hell.

“In the essentials we need unity, in the non-essentials we need freedom; but in all things we need love.”- Rupertus Meldeniu

What we offer your family

Doing Life Together

We focus on movements, helping each person take their next step towards Christ!

Helping each person  no matter their age, socio-economic, gender, marital status, etc, to take another step closer to Loving God and Loving People.  This philosopy of movements has shaped how we walk out what God says in His Word. We do not have singles, men's, women's, or college ministries in the classical sense. Wait . . . do not stress out.  That doesn't mean we don't minister to those demographics, only that we don't feel as if we must gear a ministry toward a particular group to reach that group. Remember "We Do Life Together."  We do provide "specialized" ministries for those who are ages 0-25 as their needs and ministry to each group is unique.

This philosophy of movements, along with a strong belief and passion that church consists not of a building but in being the body of Christ in doing  life together, has driven us to look at how ministry is done. We have chosen to facilitate ministry in and through our groups. Groups serve as a hub  in which men and women, single or married, young and those who not so young, gather together in recognition that we were never meant to do life alone. Our hope is to create unity in diversity as people interact with those who are perhaps a little unlike themselves.

How you can get connected

Getting Started

1. Gatherings (Service Times)

Sundays - Many folks first connect with Journey by attending one of our weekend Gatherings. Journey meets each Sunday at 9 & 11 am.

Hunger  & Thirst - The first Wednesday of every month, we unleash the arts to create an inspired environment we can experience as one church. Together, we'll discover truth and wonder that bring us heart-to-heart with God and celebrate.

2.  Steps Classes

Step Classes are the gateway to connecting and getting involved at Journey. These one day classes will communicate the vision and DNA of Journey Community Church.

3. Connect To a Group or Home Challenge

Join  a group. Whether it's a  Group where you connect through a book or Bible study, or support group where you discover safe community and healing, groups are the places to develop friendships. We have groups that meet on Wednesdays and throughout the week. If you want to get connected with a group immediately, you can stop by the “Guest Services Table” in the Journey building lobby where you can get contact information for a person that lives in an area near you.

Join the Home Challenge, we challenge each person to take the Sunday off and not go to Church but to BE THE CHURCH by connecting at one of our many homes  that meet at 11 am on the 5th Sunday.  Simple - sleep in, pick a home to attend, bring a side dish, and be the church.  We can not be the church unless we actually do life together.

4.  Serve

Servant Leadership: Make  a difference by partnering with Journey Community Church by using your gifts and talents. We have tons of way you can help. Steps Classes are a prerequisite to assisting in children's, youth, and Sunday volunteer roles.

The Big Serve: Be part of something bigger than yourself. Use your gifts and experiences to serve others and develop friendships on the team along the way. The Big Serve happens once every other month.
